Jimny Castor Correction Bushes
Des Sol Jimny castor correction bushes help correct the front suspension after a 40–50mm lift. The 2° offset moves the front radial arms into a better position. As a result, the bushes help restore positive castor and improve steering feel.
The bushes also help reduce coil bow on a lifted Suzuki Jimny Gen 4. Therefore, the front springs can sit in a better position and move more freely.
Key Benefits
- Set of four correction bushes
- 2° offset design
- Suits a 40–50mm suspension lift
- Helps restore positive castor
- Improves straight-line control
- Supports better steering return
- Helps reduce front coil bow
- Made for the Suzuki Jimny Gen 4
Why a Lift Changes the Steering
A suspension lift changes the angle of the front radial arms. Consequently, the front axle turns slightly and the Jimny loses some positive castor.
Less positive castor can make the steering feel light or unsettled. In addition, the steering wheel may not return to the centre as well after a turn.
The Jimny lift correction bushes adjust the position of the radial arms. Therefore, they help move the front axle back toward the correct angle.
Made for a 40–50mm Lift
This set suits a Suzuki Jimny Gen 4 with about 40–50mm of lift. The 2° offset aims to return the castor angle toward roughly +2° to +3°.
However, each vehicle may produce a different final reading. Spring height, vehicle weight and worn parts can all affect the result. Therefore, a workshop must check the alignment after fitting the bushes.
Better Road Control
Positive castor helps the Jimny track in a straight line. It also helps the steering wheel return toward the centre after a turn.
As a result, the vehicle can feel more settled during normal road use. Moreover, the driver may need fewer steering changes on a straight road.
However, new castor bushes cannot fix every steering problem. A workshop should also check the wheel alignment, tyres, steering joints and other front suspension parts.
Helps Reduce Coil Bow
A lift can turn the front axle and change the angle of the coil seats. Consequently, the front springs may develop a visible curve.
The 2° bushes help correct the axle angle. Therefore, they can remove much of the coil bow and help the springs work from a better position.
What the Set Includes
- Four 2° castor correction bushes
- Matching bushes for both front radial arms
- Offset centres for lift correction
The set contains the four Jimny castor correction bushes needed for the front radial arms. However, it does not include the other radial-arm or chassis-side bushes.
Therefore, ask the installer to check the remaining bushes before fitting the kit. Replace any cracked or worn parts at the same time.
Fitment and Alignment
A suspension workshop should remove the old bushes with a press. Next, the installer must fit each 2° bush in the correct direction.
The direction matters because the offset controls the axle angle. Therefore, incorrect fitment may create the wrong amount of correction.
After fitting the bushes, the workshop should measure the castor and check the wheel alignment. In addition, the installer should inspect the coils, brake hoses and steering parts through their full range of movement.
Finally, test the Jimny at a safe speed and check the steering response. If the castor remains outside the correct range, the vehicle may need a different correction part.
Important: This set suits a Suzuki Jimny Gen 4 with about 40–50mm of suspension lift. Confirm the vehicle, actual lift height and required correction before ordering.
