High-Strength Aluminium Frame

The Suzuki Jimny roof rack uses a 6082-T6 aluminium frame to balance strength and weight. Consequently, the rack provides useful carrying space without the weight of a comparable full-steel platform.

The frame and slats use internal stainless-steel bolts and washers. Meanwhile, Nyloc securing nuts help resist unwanted loosening during travel.

However, all fasteners should still be inspected regularly. This is particularly important after driving on corrugated roads or rough terrain.

Eight Vehicle Mounting Brackets

The five-door roof platform uses eight high-strength brackets, with four mounting positions on each side. As a result, the rack’s support is distributed along the longer five-door roofline.

The mounting brackets use 3CR12 material with a powder-coated finish. In addition, rubberised protection helps guard the contact areas around the vehicle mounting points.

Five-Stage Coating Process

Des Sol applies a class-leading five-stage coating process to the aluminium frame. Therefore, the rack receives added protection against aluminium oxidation and outdoor exposure.

The coating process supports long-term use in touring and off-road conditions. Nevertheless, clean the rack after mud, salt or coastal exposure and repair any deep coating damage promptly.

A laboratory static-strength test does not represent the vehicle’s safe driving limit. Always remain within Suzuki’s approved dynamic and static roof-load limits, as well as any lower limit stated for the rack or accessory.

Off-road driving creates higher forces than smooth-road travel. Consequently, reduce the carried load where required and distribute the weight evenly across the platform.

Warranty Information

The Jimny Gen 4 roof rack carries a lifetime mechanical warranty and a five-year coating warranty. These warranties remain subject to Des Sol’s applicable conditions, correct installation, normal use and required maintenance.

Damage caused by overloading, incorrect accessory fitment, accidents or vehicle abuse may fall outside the warranty. Therefore, retain the purchase and installation records.

Installation Information

Professional installation is recommended. The installer should position the brackets correctly, protect the vehicle contact areas and tighten all hardware to the required torque.

After installation, inspect the doors, roof and rear hatch for adequate clearance. Also, check the rack hardware after the first trip and during regular vehicle servicing.

Important: This roof rack is designed for the five-door Suzuki Jimny Gen 4. The shorter three-door model requires its own correctly sized roof rack.
