Suzuki Jimny Gen 4 Radial Cup Protectors

Jimny Gen 4 radial cup protectors help shield the exposed radius-arm mounting cups from rocks, ridges and other trail hazards. Des Sol designed the guards to fit closely around the mounting cups without adding unnecessary bulk beneath the vehicle.

Des Sol makes the protectors from 3mm STRENX 700 steel. In addition, the bolt-on kit uses specially designed washers to support the protector sides while the installer tightens the hardware.

Protection for Exposed Mounting Cups

The radius-arm mounting cups sit in an exposed position beneath the Jimny. As a result, they can strike rocks or hard ridges when the vehicle crosses uneven ground.

A direct impact can bend or mark an unprotected cup. Therefore, the Suzuki Jimny radial cup protectors create a strong barrier between the mounting points and the terrain below.

However, the guards cannot prevent every form of damage. Drivers should still select their route carefully and inspect the vehicle after a hard impact.

3mm STRENX 700 Steel

Des Sol uses 3mm STRENX 700 steel to provide strong protection without unnecessary weight. The formed shape also follows the mounting cups closely and helps maintain useful ground clearance.

Furthermore, E-coating and powder coating protect the steel from dirt, water and harsh trail conditions. Check the finish after off-road trips and repair deep chips before corrosion can develop.

Special Washer Design

Tightening a cup protector without the correct support may pull its sides inward. The guard could then press against or damage the outside of the original mounting cup.

For this reason, Des Sol supplies special washers with the kit. These washers support the protector sides and help maintain the correct shape as the installer tightens the mounting hardware.

Important: Always use the supplied washers in the correct positions. Do not replace them with standard washers unless Des Sol approves the alternative.

Model Compatibility

The Jimny Gen 4 radial cup protectors fit compatible three-door and five-door Suzuki Jimny models. Nevertheless, confirm fitment if the vehicle has modified radius arms, altered suspension mounting points or other underbody accessories.

The guards must not touch the radius arms or restrict suspension movement. Therefore, the installer should check clearance through the suspension’s working range.

Installation and Inspection

A trained installer should fit the protectors and use the special washers as shown in the Des Sol instructions. The installer must tighten the hardware evenly and check that the protector sides remain correctly positioned.

After installation, inspect the hardware after the first off-road trip. Also, check the guards during normal services and after any heavy impact. Tighten loose hardware and replace any badly bent, cracked or damaged protector before driving off-road again.
